Much of the traditional art of India is concerned with the depiction of various aspects of Hinduism, most notably from Vedic and Tantric sources. The most common subject matter is the different forms of gods and goddesses in their various states of manifestation. Paintings of yantras are also common in Indian art. Yantras are geometrical designs used as visual supports in the practice of meditation.
